In this article, we walk through a real-world Digital Product Passport (DPP) showcase using decentralized identifiers (DIDs) and verifiable credentials to demonstrate how open, permissionless standards can power trusted, interoperable product data—from a running T-shirt to batteries—aligning with EU regulations and enabling secure, lifecycle-wide transparency without vendor lock-in.
