DORTMUND, GERMANY / SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA – October 29, 2025 – K4Security (CEO Kyungcheol Park) announced on the 29th that it has officially signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Spherity, a European specialist in decentralized identity, to “strengthen readiness for EU regulations.”
The MOU aims to technically integrate capabilities to address new EU regulations such as the Digital Product Passport (DPP) and the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), with a focus on boosting the global supply-chain competitiveness of Korean exporters.
Spherity is a Germany-based leader in Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) and digital credentialing. The company possesses both innovative technologies and regulatory response capabilities that support the digital transformation of enterprises and industries across the EU. In particular, Spherity has been at the forefront of building a sustainable digital trust ecosystem through DPP and Decentralized Identifier (DID) solutions that enable secure exchange and instant verification of enterprise and product data in regulated EU industries. Based on W3C standards, Spherity’s technology supports DPP implementation and has accumulated proven use cases in sectors such as batteries, textiles, and manufacturing.
Under the MOU, K4Security plans to combine Spherity’s DPP and EU Business Wallet technologies with K4Security’s own DID-based compliance platform to ensure compliance with new EU regulations—including ESPR—and to secure international interoperability. While Spherity will support the creation of an interoperable trust ecosystem and entry into the EU digital market, K4Security will deliver a SaaS-based DPP solution integrated with Spherity’s technology, providing customers with enhanced capabilities for regulatory readiness and compliance.
In particular, by integrating Spherity’s DPP and EU Business Wallet technologies into K4Security’s DID-based compliance platform and wallet services, customers will be able to create and manage DPPs—including ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) data—across the entire product lifecycle. This integrated approach will enable B2B onboarding and compliance automation, DID-based tamper resistance, and robust audit trails. The solution supports real-time verification while maintaining data sovereignty within complex global supply chains.
This MOU is designed to help exporters in Korea and the broader Asia-Pacific (APAC) region proactively respond to new EU regulations such as ESPR and to facilitate smoother entry into the European market. With the EU’s DPP becoming mandatory in 2027, the partnership is expected to alleviate compliance burdens for manufacturers in industries such as general manufacturing, fashion, and critical minerals, while accelerating the transition to more sustainable supply chains.
“K4Security’s collaboration with Spherity will be a significant turning point for Korean companies that must respond to EU DPP regulations within complex global supply chains,” said Kyungcheol Park, CEO of K4Security. “We will focus on building interoperability across value chains and establishing robust regulatory response frameworks with solutions based on international standards.”
“The partnership with K4Security marks a significant milestone in our mission to create a secure, transparent, and globally interoperable digital ecosystem,” said Dr. Carsten Stöcker, CEO of Spherity. “Korean and APAC companies are vital to global supply chains, and this collaboration provides them with a compliant and efficient pathway to navigate the EU’s digital market. Together, we are building the future of trusted B2B interactions.”
K4Security is a leading Korean provider of a DID-based compliance platform optimized for global supply chains and the EU regulatory environment. Leveraging digital-trust and authenticity-verification technologies, the company delivers innovative solutions across diverse industries. Aligning with international standards, ESG, and GS1 identification schemes, K4Security issues and manages product-trust data to support the digital transformation and market competitiveness of domestic and international companies. Through this MOU, K4Security expects to accelerate its expansion in the EU while helping to build a digital trade ecosystem across Asia.
